Once upon a time there were two young women who set out to make their way in the world. One having found herself completely unsuited for the role of governess as was her previous employment, and the other finding great difficulty in making her living by the pen found themselves at loose ends and unsatisfactorily unemployed. Now being the respectable and intelligent sort of young women, they found themselves – over tea and knitting – contemplating what exactly they should do about this situation.
“We are intelligent,” they said. “And crafty too.” “We really don’t like people though. At least, not enough to speak to them all the time.” “But we can knit, and sew and make all sorts of things.”
And thus the seed of an idea was planted.
Conditions have changed somewhat since that seed began to sprout. Miss Hewson found a new vocation of Librarian’s Assistant and Miss Muffett decided she may as well go back to being a Historian at least part of the time. Yet they still wished to work together on the creation of something, and as they had discovered, creating one of a kind accessories is an enjoyable past time. So, rather than abandoning the pursuit they sought to expand their horizons.
Thus this is a journal of ideas and inspirations, a catalogue of interests and endeavours, and the occasional sneak peak or exclusive Miss Hewson or Miss Muffett design.
